Do I need to collect my luggage for a connecting flight?
If your flights have been booked in the same booking, you do not need to collect your luggage. They will be forwarded on to your destination. However, there are a few exceptions:
- You change airports to take a connecting flight
- You are taking a connecting flight in the United States or another country that requires passengers to collect their luggage.
- Your connection includes a night at the stopover destination
- The staff at the check-in counter will let you know if any of these exceptions apply to your journey.
Note: if you have made two separate bookings for your trip, you will need to collect your luggage between flights.
For example, you first booked a long-haul flight from Paris and then made a second booking to take you to Paris. Because these bookings were made separately, you will need to collect your luggage yourself, then repeat the process of checking in and dropping off your luggage for your second flight.
